Philips; two new models, the Xenium 189 and 289

The new Philips models follow after a time of minor introductions from the side of Philips. These new devices are the first real introductions for 2006.

Philips developed two new models in the Xenium series; the 289 and 189. The first relates to the middle class and the second to the category low-end. Both apparatuses are executed in the candybar form factor and are intended for the GSM (900/1800 MHz) networks and support GPRS class 10.

The Xenium 289 is equipped with a 1.3 Mpixel camera, e-mail client, infrared and Bluetooth. The device also supports WAP, JAVA and MMS. The resolution of the display is 128 x 160 pixels. The Xenium 189 did not obtain a camera, but nevertheless it supports MMS and there are the functions of calendar and alarm clock. The resolution of display is 128 x 128 pixels.
