Vizio launches Android handset

The American TV manufacturer Vizio launches its own smartphone. The new handset runs Android and has a 4 inch screen. The company also comes with its own tablet with an 8 inch screen. Both devices are to be launched at CES,

Vizio's Android handset, called 'Via Phone' ,has a camera on the front and the back. Rumours are that the phone runs the next version of Android, 3.0 Honeycomb. The handset has a HDMI-connection as well. The phone shares many specs with its tablet brother, the 'Via Tablet'.


As Vizio's TV's are an America-only product, we expect the smartphone to be available only in the USA after the release. It seems improbable that the phone and the tablet are coming to Europe. We''l know more when the CES will be held in Las Vegas, starting January 6th.
