New HTC Breeze and HTC Trinity + extra HTC news
The new HTC Breeze successor of the current HTC Tornado (SPV C600, Qtek 8310 and i-mate SP5) and HTC Trinity a new PocketPC wit UMTS are shown on the net. But that is not all for HTC in 2006.
The devices which will be available this year are the successors of the the following current models; SPV C600, Qtek 8310 and i-mate SP5 in case of the HTC Breeze and SPV M600, Qtek S200 and i-mate JAMIN in case of the HTC Trinity.
There is not a lot to mention about the new models. The HTC Trinity will hit the market around the third quarter of this year and will be the true successor of the Qtek S100 and SPV M500 (HTC Magician series). The device will have an Intel 416 Mhz processor, Wifi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, GPS receiver and HSDPA support on board. The looks will have some close relation to the Qtek S200 and SPV M600 (HTC Prophet series).
The HTC Breeze is the successor of the devices mentioned above also called HTC Tornado series. The device is equipped with UMTS and videotelefony and shall be available at the end of the second quarter or at the beginning of the third quarter this year.

UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 2 megapixel camera with flash, T9 pad, videotelefony camera (front), TI OMAP processor, form factor comparable with the HTC Tornado with videotelefony camera on the front.
Next to these models we will see a lot more, for instance the HTC Hermes (see picture below), HTC Herald (idem with respect to HTC Wizard but very thin (18 mm), with a weaker battery and MicroSD memory card slot), HTC Muse (see picture below) and HTC Artimes (No Wifi or UMTS, but a GPS receiver, digital compass and scroll wheel. Expected next six months). The HTC Muse needs to be addressed extra. This complete new device is a true iPod killer with 4 GB of internal flash memory, FM radio, remote control and video-out. The big screen makes it possible to watch videos. A drawback is the 240 x 240 pixels square resolution and the fact that there is no Wifi on this device. We are expecting the device to hit the market at the end of this year and that will be quite late if you look at the introduction dates of the N91, i300x and W950i.

UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, HSDPA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Intel 416 MHz processor, 2 megapixel camera with flash, special music keys, 240 x 240 pixels screen, videotelefony camera (front), 4 GB flash memory, very thin design.
What is not shown this year by HTC? There will not be a HTC Universal successor (known as T-mobile MDA Pro and Qtek 9000), this device will be expected around 2007. The HTC Excalibur is cancelled. The Moto Q look-a-like was cancelled after the introduction of the new Motorola Q last year. Now that the Q is not coming the road is free to bring back this HTC model to the drawing board.
We will see enough new hardware from HTC this year. We noticed that all devices are equipped with Wifi, UMTS and some with HSDPA. Furthermore all devices will be equipped with the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system.
