MeeGo running on Nokia N900

The first version of MeeGo might run smoothly on a netbook, but what about the smartphone version? We gave it a try on our spare Nokia N900 and successfully installed MeeGo.

Just days after the Alpha Release of MeeGo for Handsets was released we gave it a run for its money on our Nokia N900. And although MeeGo is perhaps giving a rather slick end result on its website, we had quite different results:


The only working app turned out to be the browser, all other apps did not work. It was even impossible to set-up an Internet connection.

Optimistic

Nevertheless, we aren't that disappointed. We know the OS is far from finished and has enough potential to still blow our minds. It has beautiful graphical multitasking, animated transitions and a lot of other promising features. We will just have to wait for version 1.
