Hands on Motorola Milestone 2

Placed on 09-05-2010 filed under Phone news

We don't have to explain to real Android fans what the Milestone 2 is all about. We found one here at IFA 2010 and looked if it is really better that the first Milestone.

Of course we own our very own Milestone at NewMobile HQ so we can make a nice comparison of the two. We can't help noticing few changes. Although it seems Motorola has used better quality materials so its shines a little bit more and looks slightly more expensive.

The slider mechanism is pretty much the same. It needs quite some force to slide the Milestone 2 open. There is no spring so you have to keep sliding till you hear a click.

The biggest design change is of course the keyboard. While the keys of the first Milestone are somewhat hollow the keys on the Milestone 2 stand slightly out. You can feel the different keys better what makes typing a lot more easier. We did a test without any errors.

Enough about it appearance, how about the inside of the Milestone 2? Nothing but good there. The phone is a lot faster than its predecessor mainly because it has a speedy 1 GHz internal processor and uses Android 2.2. We were impressed by the responsiveness and the general speed of Motorola's flagship. Choosing your next new mobile has become a lot more difficult!
