New HP iPaq smartphones finally reality

HP has launched two new iPaq smartphones and one of them is the 'Silver' that has been spotted by us before. The iPaq Data Messenger and iPaq Voice Messenger are clearly aiming at the 'general' consumer and both have something for everybody.

We have already spotted the 'Silver', officially called the iPaq Voice Messenger. The device has GPS and WiFi. Furthermore, the quad band device has fast internet through UMTS, HSDPA and even HSUPA.

We are used to be surprised by the specs of HP. This device has an built-in 3.1 megapixel camera including a flash. The 2.4 inch display is supporting 65 thousand colours, like we can of course expect from Windows Mobile 6.1. It also has a QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels) and the full QWERTY display is easy to use.

The Voice Messenger has a 1260 mAh battery and navigation software that can be used for free for 30 days.

iPaq Data Messenger
HP did also introduce iPaq Data Messenger; a slider smartphone that has a 2.8 inch display. The device has of course the new Windows Mobile 6.1 and behind the touchscreen a QWERTY keyboard is hiding, which is comparable with the Voice Messenger.

The two devices do not really differ that much. The Data Messenger also has UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, WiFi, GPS, Assisted GPS, a 3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and much more. The battery does differ: it has 1140 mAh, but this difference is very small.
