Please can you advise me as to why my phone switches itself off after a couple of hours and I have to introduce my pin in again. Thus making it impossible to receive calls. I was given another of the same model by a friend because of this problem but that does the same thing too, thank you

Perhaps your battery is empty. If not, try to bend the pins (carefully!) on the inside of the phone to make better contact with the battery.
