Peter Chou, HTC's CEO, says his company intends to bring six to eight new phones in the third quarter of this year. This suggests that the smartphone programme is updated significantly.
Chou gave no clou what the new devices will be like. The rumour mill recently gave some evidence for a Windows Phone smartphone with a large screen. This phone is reportedly being developed under the code name HTC Eternity. The HTC Prime and Ignite already surfaced in leaked pictures as well. These handsets als use Microsoft's operating system.
The Taiwanese company HTC quickly became a big selling smartphone brand. The company just makes smartphones, and attracts many buyers with them. Especially HTC’s Android devices performed well, although also phones with Windows Phone and Brew OS were released.
