Samsung launches Android handset with full keyboard

Samsung has presented the Galaxy 551, an Android handset with full QWERTY keyboard. The phone will probably hit the market in november 2010.

Samsung ships the Galaxy 551 with Android 2.2 Froyo, the latest version of the popular operating system. As usual, Samsung installed its own interface, TouchWiz 3.0, on top of vanilla Android. The specification of the handset resemble those of the Galaxy 3, with the full physical keyboard as the big difference.

Mid segment

With a 667 Mhz processor, the Galaxy 551 is placed in the mid segment of the smartphone market. Further specification match the position in the market, although a 3.2 Megapixel camera is as good as Samsungs competitors fit in their mid range phones.
