To find out for which mobile platform developing an app is the most simple, the Budapest New Tech Meetu organised a competition between experienced programmers that work with iOS, Android an Windows Phone 7.
The developers got a concept of an application, and had 1,5 hours to create the app. Each team had two member. All of them started form scratch, creating all code for the app themselves. They had no idea of the assignment before they came to the competition. Over there, they heard that they should create an app that enabled users to rate speakers on meetups.
Windows Phone 7 'wins'
After 90 minutes, when the results were subject of closer inspection, the developers of the Windows Phone 7 app had an almost working application, that only needed a data real database with speakers and meetups to be connected. iOS and Android developers only had a single screen of their app.
The winners of the competition immediately gave all the honor of their victory to the platform they're working with. "it’s not because we are so awesome. We managed to beat the other platforms because the WP7 development tools and the platform is extremely productive", said developer András Velvárt.
