UMTS

UMTS is the abbreviation of Universal Mobile Telecommunications System. It uses a new network architecture for both voice and data.

The used frequencies of UMTS are between 2.0 - 2.15 GHz. UMTS is also called 3G (3rd generation). UMTS could theoretically reach speeds of up to 2Mbps, but this will be lower in practice. Probably 384 kbps (1,000 bits per second). Sending a 4MB MP3 file would then take almost a minute and a half.
