Motorola at 3GSM; no new devices, only the current portofolio
3GSM was for Motorola not a step into new products, but keeping the current position and showing the current portofolio of devices and accessories.
It was not an event of a major amount of new Motorola devices, but that will not mean that Motorola had nothing to show. The stand was filled with the latest products, which contained low-end models, the new fantastic ROKR E2, new RAZR V3i/V3 Blue/V3 Pink/V3x and Motorola Q. Especially the last one needs to be pulled out. Because the Q will never loose its MPx syndrome, due to the enormeous amount of delay. The device has already been past by the new Nokia E61 and Samsung i320.
Furthermore the stand was filled with new gadgets as the nice Bluetooth 2.0 headset, the special RAZRwire headsets/sunglasses and a special headset you can use with your motorcycle helmet.
Was there nothing new on the stand then, not really! The ROKR E2 was the thing to see on the stand. The new device which has ablility to be the first major influence on the sales of the Walkman devices was the device that had not be missed. There is only one major failure in the device. iTunes support has gone and iRadio came back for it.
What about new introductions? There were four, two new clamshells and two old devices in an i-mode cover. And also the L2 got some new looks.
The new i-mode models are standard L6 and L7 models with a different cover and i-mode content on board. The L7 got a new 1.3 mpixel camera which is the same as in the ROKR E2.
The two new clamshells are complete new devices. The W220 and V195 are focussed on looks and not on specifications. The W220 shows simplicity to the world with the outside cover that shows information on incoming calls and messages. There is also a radio onboard the new W220.
The specifications of the new models are not surprising and quite the same as in the current L2 and C257. Prices are not known at this stage, but the expectance is that those will be low.
