Slim, slimmer, slimmest? Can it be more slimmer? Yes, the Motorola 3some!
Copying is one thing, making a concept is a second thing. The Motorola 3some (SLVR, PEBL and RAZR) shows that Motorola is still a brand that has to be taken into account.
The new line of Motorola devices for the upcoming months shall be fixed at points known from Motorola. They address the feeling of the user. You will buy a Motorola because you love it, you like it or it fits in your style.
Specifications is a second thing, something on which Motorola looses, but it is not directly what Motorola wants to achieve. Fashion, acting on trends and feeling & style are the key issues that made the brand and for instance the RAZR with all its colour variants to what it is today. Everybody knows the grey version, but also the black, pink and blue version.
Motorola continues this philosophy in their new line with models. The PEBL Colors and V3i Colors are two complete new sets of devices that were discussed on our website in the past days/weeks and this is what Motorola wants to show the mobile world.

When we are looking at the current portofolio, which is now available in the shops, we see the new SLVR, also known as L7. This 12 mm thin device with a weight of 85 gram serves the user with everything he or she needs. However a megapixel camera is really missed, but the low price of the device compensates that.

The second model is the new V3i, that will be available in four colours. Currently only one colour is available. The device is the successor of the V3 and consists of a 1.23 Mpixel camera, MP3 player, memorycard slot and the possibility to install MP3 ringtones. Furthermore the key parts that made the V3 RAZR such a success or should we say slim are also available.

The last model is the most special one. The PEBL, maybe known from the TV commercial, is ones again a fashion statement from Motorola. Not on the slim side, but style makes the difference here and it brings that special touch to the device. Opening the device is truly an art.

What can we expect next to this 3some in the upcoming months? i-Tunes is over. Motorola stops the battle against the Walkman devices from Sony Ericsson and puts the "Music in your device" idea away. It does offer something special. The new stereo Bluetooth headset, which gives you the option to listen stereo music for 10 hours without a wired connection between your device and your headset. The HS820 serves this purpose; one minor issue is the availability of devices which support this headset.

The same counts for the small and special in-ear miniblue Bluetooth headset, which picks up your voice through the ear canal so conversations come in loud and clear even in a noisy environment. You can chat wire free for up to approximately 7.5 hours using the included portable charging base and it is available for all Bluetooth devices.

It is the moment of truth for Motorola. The next months will be special in Europe due to the new introductions from Samsung in its Slim line. The expectation is that Samsung wil not mess with the sales of the SLVR and that the V3i will sell better than the Z510. The D800 and P300 is a different story, both devices do not have a counterpart from Motorola. The same goes for the PEBL. It will be nice to see which slim devices will prefail.
