Oppo A79 5G with better screen announced for Benelux

Oppo will soon release the A79 5G in the Netherlands and Belgium. The mid-range device is at the lower end of the market but does come with a sharper better screen than its predecessor.

The Oppo A79 5G promises to be a fairly inexpensive 5G phone. And this time with an FHD+ screen, where the A78 still had an HD+ screen. As a result, images will come across just a bit sharper.

New Oppo A79 5G released

Like its predecessor, the Oppo A79 5G gets a 50MP AI camera that can take portrait and landscape photos. Says Oppo itself. The limited 77° angle of view for the main camera makes us question this. For a true ultra-wide-angle lens, you need 120° anyway. There is still a secondary camera of 2MP present, but it seems mainly to recognize depth.

Little to choose

The Oppo A79 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor. It runs at up to 2.2 GHz and features 8 cores in total. There are versions with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of storage. It just seems that we will only get the 4+128GB version here.

There is also nothing to choose in terms of color. Despite the announced colors Mystic Black, Dazzling Purple and Glowing Green, only the black variant is coming out here. The recommended retail price is $299. We expect the A79 5G in stores within a few days.
