Huawei is planning a comeback in the smartphone market outside of China. During an international press conference in Shenzhen on October 3, CEO Richard Yu said that the company wants to return to the global market with its own operating system, HarmonyOS. This is just a plan, not a final decision. Yu did not mention a date, countries, or devices. For the Netherlands, this would mean the return of a brand that virtually disappeared from stores following the U.S. trade ban.

Samsung has announced the Galaxy SmartTag 3, but the reasoning behind its design is unclear. For the first time, the tracker is compatible with iPhones, which already have a great alternative in the AirTag. Pixel, Xiaomi, and Motorola device owners still cannot use it. Unlike the Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi has confirmed that the new models will be launched outside of China. You will be able to purchase the devices here with a warranty and without the hassle of an import process. However, there does seem to be a trade-off: the European version will likely have a smaller battery.
As announced, Lenovo unveiled the Motorola Edge 20 Pro on September 22 during the Snapdragon Summit, one of the first phones to feature Qualcomm’s new flagship chip. While the first Signature model from January had to make do with a slightly lower-tier chip, its successor is all about speed. Motorola is keeping the price under wraps for now.
