Samsung shows mid-end Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy mini 2

On the eve of the MWC in Barcelona, Samsung presented two new handsets: the Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy mini 2. Both phones run on Android.

The Ace 2 has the best specifications of the two. This phone features a 800 MHz dual core processor and a 3.8 inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with the familiar Samsung TouchWiz skin. The Galaxy Ace 2 is, as the name suggests, the successor to the Galaxy Ace .

The Galaxy mini 2 is the successor to the Galaxy mini. This phone has a slightly lesser specifications, and will therefore be cheaper than the Ace 2. The Galaxy min 2 has a 3.27 inch screen and a 800 MHz processor. Like the Ace 2 the mini 2 runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. There is no mention of a possible update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Of both devices there will be a version with and without NFC. The Galaxy mini 2 is a little thicker if you opt for the version with NFC, the Galaxy Ace 2 doesn’t grow. The smartphones are available in March in France, and will come a little later to other countries worldwide.
