Xiaomi has announced a new Poco phone with a somewhat illogical name: the X3 NFC. If you ask us NFC is definitely not the most important feature Xiaomi should emphasize. That would be the 120 Hz display or the quadruple camera system.
But that's not what Xiaomi's smart marketing guys think. The X3 NFC is the successor to the F2 Pro and the third model in the POCO series. As we are used to from this series, the X3 also has a low price tag. At least that's what we think of phones with a starting price of 229 euro.
In return you get a 6.67 inch large DotDisplay. As far as we are concerned, this display is also the star of the show because it has a high 120Hz refresh rate. Until yesterday you had to pay almost 700 euros if you wanted a phone with a similar screen. The X3 automatically switches between 50, 60, 90 and 120Hz to get the best battery life. Not that the 5160 mAh large battery runs out quickly. What's more, it supports fast charging with 33 Watts. In less than half an hour, it's already half full.
First with Snapdragon 732G
On the back of the POCO X3 NFC, Xiaomi applies a four-headed camera system with 64MP main camera and f/1.89 lens, 13MP camera with 119° ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth of field camera. A separate zoom camera is missing, so you can zoom in on the 64MP sensor without immediately seeing any loss of quality. Inside, room has been made for a Snapdragon 732G; a slightly faster version of the 730G that was announced a week ago. The latter uses Xiaomi's flagship Mi Note 10 Pro. A powerful chipset for good performance.
Xiaomi will ship the POCO X3 NFC from 10 September in the colors Cobalt Blue and Shadow Gray. In terms of memory storage you can choose between 64GB and 128GB. The first version costs 229 euros and for more memory you need to pay 269 euros. In both cases you will get 6GB of RAM memory (RAM) which is more than reasonable in this price category. Xiaomi has an early-bird offer. From 10 September 13:00 till 14 September 23:59 you pay 199 euros for the entry-level model, the 64GB model will set you back 249 euros.
