We recognize Motorola edge devices mainly by their stylish design, with the necessary curves. The edge 40 is no different in this regard. The front has 56° curved glass with a special anti-fingerprint coating. On the back, you can choose between versions made of acrylic fiber (Lunar Blue or Eclipse Black) or vegan leather (Nebula Green).
New to the Motorola edge 40 is its considerably more waterproof casing with an IP68 rating. It is also thin, with just 7.58 millimeters in depth and sharply rounded sides. On the back, there are now only two cameras; a 50MP primary camera with impressively large f/1.4 aperture and OIS and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120° wide viewing angle. Gone is the 2MP depth camera that was still present on the edge 30, but we can miss it like a toothache.
Motorola Spatial Sound
On the front, the edge 40 features a 6.55-inch pOLED screen with crisp FHD+ resolution, a colorful HDR10+ display, and smooth 144 Hz playback. Sound is handled by dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support and Motorola's own Spatial Sound. The battery gets an upgrade to 4400 mAh and has fast charging up to 68W. In addition, wireless charging is now listed on the spec list and can be relatively fast at 15W.
