The Nokia G60 5G is a largely recycled phone, but the accompanying advertising is also recycled. After all, it's only available in Spanish. We can't make it more sustainable

Nokia G60 product details
The Nokia G60 is an affordable 5G phone that has an eye for the environment. At least, that's what the maker of the G60 claims. Whether that's greenwashing or actually true we're going to find out for you here.
Sustainable or greenwashing?
To get right to that sustainability claim, let's start with some numbers. The G60's frame is made of 60% recycled plastic. The back is made entirely of recycled plastic. The box it comes in is made of FSC-certified material. Furthermore, HMD Global, the maker of this device, makes no statement about where the metals come from, whether they were sustainably mined and whether the miners were paid decently. Furthermore, there is no official certification from agencies such as B Corp, Blue Angel or TCO. So, as far as we are concerned, there is room for a little more if the G60 is to receive the stamp of "sustainable."

3-3-3 promise
You can make the G60 a little more durable by making it last longer. HMD Global lends a hand as it provides this device with three years of Android upgrades and three years of monthly security updates. And the durable back ensures that it will actually last that long. And if it does break down in the meantime, you can always fall back on the warranty. This is exceptionally long at three years. What the Nokia G60 5G does not come with is a charger. The 20W fast charger is available separately.

Main camera makes up for a lot
The G60 5G further comes with a 6.58" image display with sharp FHD+ resolution. Neat in this price range is the high 120Hz screen refresh rate. The more often images are refreshed, the smoother animations and transitions look. The selfie camera sits in a somewhat dated notch at the top of the screen. It is an 8MP one with AI portrait mode. On the back you will find a trio of cameras of 50, 5 and 2MP in size. In addition to the main camera, these are an ultra-wide-angle and a depth camera. The latter adds little but the main camera makes up for a lot. It performs well, even in the dark.
