Oppo A52 product details

The Oppo A52 is an affordable smartphone with a sharp and modern screen, a quadruple camera and a large battery with long battery life. It also features stereo speakers, premium Qualcomm processor and fast charging. So could this be the perfect phone for this kind of money?

No major drawbacks

On paper, the A52 does indeed look like a good phone with hardly anything wrong with it. It is up to us to find the proverbial snag. However, after studying all the features and specifications, we have to disappoint the critics; the A52 does not have any real major shortcomings. At least not if you consider the lack of 5G or waterproof housing a major shortcoming. Because with a sharp Full HD+ screen, a big battery + fast charging and a mid-range Qualcomm processor, this is not a crazy deal at this price.

Modern design

The A52's 6.5-inch screen is large but still manageable. The punch-hole for the 16MP selfie camera looks modern, as does the rounded body with mirror finish. The back is a bit more sensitive to fingerprints as a result. The fingerprint cover is found on the right side in the matte finish. The notch makes it easy to find by feel. The quadruple camera consists of a 12MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide angle, 2MP depth and 2MP macro camera. The latter 2 are used to take portrait photos. The ultra wide angle lets you shoot photos with a wide 119° viewing angle. The primary camera has a bright f/1.8 lens and a special night mode. For the more simple work, this combination suffices, but do not expect miracles.

Main Oppo A52 specifications

  • 6.5-inch Neo-Display with sharp 1080p resolution & blue light filter
  • 13MP selfie camera in modern screen hole
  • 12+8+2+2MP camera with ultra wide-angle and depth lens for portrait photos
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 665-processor with 4GB RAM memory
  • 64GB storage (expandable via memory card)
  • Large 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charge support
  • Dual SIM support (slot shared with memory card slot)
  • 4G support for high speed mobile internet

Above-average performance

For an entry-level phone, the A52 can be called reasonably powerful. That is due to the Snapdragon 665 processor from Qualcomm. This is a mid-range chipset and provides fine performance even when gaming. You can also do that for a long time thanks to the spacious 5000 mAh battery. What is interesting about this is that it has 18W fast charging. Large batteries are more common in this price category but they cannot be fast charged, this A52 can do that. There is also a dual speaker on board with Dirac 2.0 sound effects. This automatically optimizes the sound for a spacious effect.

Pro and cons Oppo A52

  • Sharp & modern screen
  • Long battery life + fast charging
  • Powerful for gaming
  • Stereo speakers
  • Camera not amazing
