Samsung announces Galaxy S26 series processor, says it has been listening
Samsung has announced the Exynos 2600 in a video message. This 2nm based chipset should eventually find its way into the Galaxy S26 series and seems to negate some of the pain points of the past.
The video shows the following message in addition to the Exynos 2600 chip:
- In silence, we listened
- Refined at the core
- Optimized at every level
- To express the exceptional
What Samsung means by this is currently speculation, but we have an idea. In the years when Samsung bet on two horses in the processor field, the Exynos variant often proved to perform worse than its Snapdragon cousin. This was reflected in performance and thermal properties. For example, the Exynos chips often overheated where the Snapdragon version stayed cooler.
"We listened"
Is this what Samsung means by "we listened"? For the Galaxy S26 and the S26+, are we going to see better performance with the Exynos 2600 version than with the Snapdragon Elite? It would be nice because Samsung traditionally releases the Exynos version of its flagships here.
Samsung says the chip is coming soon, and so that seems to confirm the arrival of the Galaxy S26 series. So we hope to hear details of the chipset, exactly which cores it uses, what clock speed they run at and what AI and GPU capabilities they have.
