Sony Xperia 1 VII already seen in 5K renders

Find the 4 differences from its predecessor

By our own calculations, it will be at least until May 2025 before Sony will announce the Xperia 1 VII, but we can already admire it now. And in high-resolution 5K renders, too. That makes it easy to compare it to its predecessor; the Xperia 1 VI. Do you find the four differences?

Images of the Sony Xperia 1 VII were shared by XpertPick and come from @Onleaks. Sony is pretty modest when it comes to updates, and the 1 VII is just that; a modest update. One with a Snapdragon 8 Elite, possibly with a new Sony camera sensor and, of course, with a whooping asking price.

External differences from the Xperia 1 VI are few and far between. For example, the dimensions are less than a millimeter apart. There is still a reasonable bezel above the screen, as there is at the bottom. That's for the front-facing stereo speakers. We see the power button with volume buttons on the right, while at the top is a 3.5mm port for wired headphones. This makes Sony one of the few to stick to this, for which kudos.

For the purists among us

The source also expects that we will find the Sony Xperia 1 VII in stores sometime in May. That will presumably come with a hefty price. At the time of writing, a Xperia 1 VI still costs nearly €1250, up from €1400 just after launch. The same fate seems to befall the 1 Mark 7, making the device really for the purists among us again.
