Newmobile is a product and price comparison website specialising in mobile phones, tablets and wearable technology. Since 2002, we have provided a comprehensive overview of the latest mobile phones in a clear, understandable and impartial manner.

We are primarily a product and price comparison site, but we also publish daily news. Although we are not purely a news site, our publications are picked up internationally by renowned media outlets such as The Verge, Engadget and TechCrunch.

We had the scoop on LG's first Android smartphone, photos of a Sony Ericsson prototype tablet, and the first images of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Google Pixel 3 (XL), Oppo Find X3 Neo, Motorola Moto G50, and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

At its core, however, we are a product comparator that provides information on new mobile phones, tablets, smartwatches, wireless earbuds and VR headsets in the form of product specifications, expert reviews, user ratings and news. Built using the latest techniques and methods, our website is ready to help you find your new mobile phone every day.

Earnings model

As with any other business, we need to make money to survive. This is no different for us. However, you won't find any intrusive adverts on our website, nor do we sell any products or services ourselves. So how do we make money? We believe in transparency, so here's an insight into our current earnings model.

Like many other comparison sites, Newmobile earns money through affiliate marketing. We forward visitors to providers, who pay us a fee for doing so. This used to be based on clicks; now, it is based on sales. If a visitor we have referred buys something from that provider, we receive a percentage of the sale. This can range from a few euros for a single device to a few tens of euros for a mobile subscription.

This raises an obvious question: why shouldn't we put the provider offering the highest commission at the top? Or leave out offers that don't pay much? However, Newmobile is different from other comparison sites because we sort by price, showing you the cheapest option. Enter a search query and we will show you the cheapest offer that gives you the most minutes, SMS messages and data. Even if it is cheaper for us. If a search results in multiple providers offering the same deal, we will subsort by which provider performs best.

Another important point on which we differ is the range of offers. We display offers from almost all providers (including web shops) with affiliate programmes. Even when they perform poorly. This is because we want to show the full range, even if it means a little less for us. If you are satisfied, we hope to welcome you back next time. This is worth more to us than the few euros we would otherwise lose. We only avoid a provider if there is unexplained poor performance, suspicion of fraud or non-payment.

It is therefore up to us to present information to you as reliably and completely as possible. We therefore check prices several times a day and select them at random for verification. We also regularly compare our prices with those of other providers to see if there are any differences. We can therefore state with reasonable certainty that our offer is better than those of our competitors. However, please compare for yourself.

History

The Dutch website NieuweMobiel.NL was launched on 17 July 2002. However, the first official launch took place in September of that year. The desire to provide more and better information about the functions and characteristics of mobile phones was the reason behind the creation of NieuweMobiel.NL. NewMobile is the English version of NieuweMobiel.NL.

During the rapid growth of the telecoms market in the late 1990s and early 2000s, providers focused more on providing information about subscriptions and pricing than on the mobile phones themselves. The information provided about mobile phones was usually incomplete. However, the introduction of NieuweMobiel.NL changed all that, creating a comprehensive database containing thousands of mobile phones with hundreds of features, characteristics, photos, prices, providers, reviews and more.

With NieuweMobiel.NL, a telecom website emerged where it was possible for the first time to search for phones based on their individual features. Soon afterwards, NieuweMobiel.NL became the first Dutch-language website where it was possible to fully compare mobile phones. All these new features were developed in response to the needs of our most important users: our visitors.
