Samsung: slim Galaxy S25 Edge arrives May 13
White smoke at Samsung, the redeeming word is out: the Galaxy S25 Edge will be unveiled May 13. On that date, an Unpacked Event will take place where Samsung will officially launch the device. Then we will also hear its price right away.
The May 13 date was mentioned earlier. That will be the launch date of the S25 Edge, possibly the device will not be in stores until later. According to our prediction, it may happen on May 30. The original plan was to launch the slim device on April 15, but that was called off at the last minute.

The event can be followed live on Samsung's Youtube page and at samsung.com. The livestream will start at 09:00 Korean Standard Time, which is 02:00 Central European Time. So that will be getting up early or staying up late. An unveiling in Korea may mean that the device will be released only in Korea first, although that is not certain.
Limited launch
We do know that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is initially limited to 39 countries including France, the United Kingdom and Australia. The Netherlands is missing from the list that came out in January.
In the press release, Samsung reports that the S25 Edge is a combination of powerful AI capabilities and an engineering marvel. Whether the latter is true we will only know once the first people have screwed open a copy. The rumor that the device features a mere 3900 mAh battery makes us suspect that this claim is not quite true.
Thanks to previous reporting, we know that the thin Galaxy S25 Edge has a thickness of 5.85 millimeters. That's 1.35 millimeters thinner than the S25. The new Edge has a 6.7-inch screen, just like the S25+. On the back is a 200MP main camera with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle. Zooming can only be done digitally with the main camera. The size of that sensor basically makes that possible without much loss of quality.
Solid starting price
We're counting on a suggested retail price starting at €1249. For this, you presumably get 256GB of storage. There also seems to be a 512GB storage variant but how much that costs we don't know yet. Both versions get 12GB of RAM and run on a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Whether it can get rid of its heat well in this small body should be seen when we get the first stress tests.
