OnePlus Nord Series: The Latest Nord Phones for Europe
For years, the Nord series was OnePlus’s answer to the demand for a fast phone without the high price tag. Since July 2026, the brand has stopped releasing new models in Europe, so the devices in this overview are the last Nord models to have been officially released here. No More New Nord Phones in Europe
In July 2026, OnePlus stopped introducing new products in Europe and North America. New Nord models will still be released, but only in markets like India, where the brand remains active. No new models will be added here: stock at online stores and carriers will not be restocked. Buying a Nord now: what should you look for?
A Nord from remaining stock does exactly what it always did, and that’s particularly appealing in the mid-range segment: you’re comparing it to devices that often charge more slowly and run heavier software. Two factors, however, carry more weight now than they used to.
- How many years of updates are left?
The Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 were promised four major Android versions and six years of security updates—the same as the flagship models. For the Nord 5, that period runs through July 2031. Older models and the Lite variants received fewer updates, and OnePlus no longer extends these periods. So check what’s left for each device. - Parts, cases, and chargers:
For screens and batteries, EU regulations require that they remain available for up to seven years after the end of the sales period. This does not apply to accessories: the fast SuperVOOC chargers, in particular, are worth buying now, because without that charger, your Nord will charge much more slowly.
Furthermore, standard protections remain in place: the manufacturer’s warranty continues—in Europe, it’s now handled by sister brand Oppo—and in the Netherlands, the retailer where you make your purchase is legally responsible for providing a defect-free product. This doesn’t change just because a brand withdraws from a market.
Which Nord is right for you?
The Nord family has expanded considerably over the years. In the overview above, you’ll see three lines.
1. The powerhouse: the flagship Nord model
The top-of-the-line model in the series, featuring the fastest processor, the best cameras with optical image stabilization, and a more premium design. The Nord 5 comes closest to a flagship and is the logical choice if you game or take photos a lot.
2. The happy medium: Nord CE (Core Edition)
The abbreviation says it all: this device focuses on the essentials. You get the most important features of the flagship model—such as 5G and an AMOLED display—in a slightly more basic package. The Nord CE 5 is the latest in the lineup and offers the best balance between what you pay and what you get.
3. The battery life champion: Nord CE Lite
If you’re primarily looking for long battery life on a budget, the Lite versions are worth considering. The Nord CE 4 Lite 5G has a substantial battery capacity and retains handy extras, such as a 3.5mm headphone jack and expandable storage. However, the update promise here is shorter than for the rest of the series.
Lightning-fast charging with SuperVOOC
The Nord series’ biggest selling point is its charging speed. While competitors in this segment often stick to modest power ratings, many Nord models charge at 80W or even 100W with SuperVOOC. In practice, you can charge your phone in the morning while you’re showering and getting dressed.
You can only achieve that speed with an original SuperVOOC charger, and it usually isn’t included in the box. Now that OnePlus is exiting the European market, those chargers will eventually become harder to find—so it’s smart to buy one right away.
From OxygenOS to ColorOS
The clean software without unnecessary apps was always one of the Nord series’ strongest points. However, OxygenOS is being phased out after eleven years: starting with Android 17, existing devices will switch to ColorOS—Oppo’s version of Android—via a standard system update. Since both systems already shared nearly the same foundation, the main changes will be to the interface and the layout of the settings.
Cameras: More Than Just Megapixels
Don’t get too caught up in megapixels. The strength of the Nord cameras lay primarily in the Sony sensors used and the post-processing.
- Optical image stabilization: available on the flagship models and on some CE devices. This keeps your photos sharp even with shaky hands and in low light.
- Smart post-processing: The newer processors in the series correct colors and exposure right as you take the photo.
