Looking to buy Gigaset smartphones? Compare all models 🇩🇪

Looking for a Gigaset smartphone? This overview lists all Gigaset smartphones from our database, with the current prices from participating stores side by side. Gigaset is one of the few brands that still develops and assembles its devices in Germany, with an emphasis on repairability and a long service life. We compare products completely independently: we don’t earn more from one brand than from another. Use the filters to narrow down the selection and find the device that’s right for you right away.

What should you look for in a Gigaset smartphone?

Gigaset stands out for its origin and durability, not its processing power. The devices are in the mid-range segment and are designed for people who want to use their phone for years and be able to replace parts themselves. Go over these points before making your choice.

Made in Germany: What It Does and Doesn’t Mean

Gigaset develops and assembles its phones in Bocholt, Germany, making it one of the last manufacturers to do so in Europe. As a result, development and production are located close together, and parts remain available for longer. This doesn’t mean the entire device is European: chips, screens, and camera sensors almost always come from Asia. If you want to explore a wider range of devices made in Europe, check out the European phones.

GS Series or GX Series

Gigaset divides its smartphones into two lines. Which one suits you best depends mainly on where you’ll be using the device.

  • GS series: the everyday line. The GS6 and GS6 Pro feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 5G, and expandable storage via microSD. The difference between the two lies in the storage: 128 GB for the GS6 and 256 GB for the Pro, both of which can be expanded up to 1 TB.
  • GX Series: the rugged line, certified to IP68 and IP69K standards and tested to MIL-STD-810H. The GX30, announced in June 2026, features a 6.58-inch display, while the GX50 has a larger 6.77-inch AMOLED display.

Where are the compromises?

In terms of processing power and the camera. The GS6 and GS6 Pro run on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300, a solid mid-range chip that struggles with heavy games and demanding editing apps. The camera setup consists of a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens—though the latter adds little in practice. If you’re choosing a phone primarily based on camera performance, this isn’t the right category for you. However, if you’re looking for a device that’s built to last and is repairable, this is a good choice.

Removable Battery and Repair

The battery in current Gigaset models is user-replaceable, a feature that has disappeared from nearly every other brand. The GS6 and GS6 Pro use a 5300 mAh battery, the GX30 a 5000 mAh battery, and the GX50 a 5100 mAh battery. Replacement batteries can be ordered directly from Gigaset. For those who want to use a device for five years or longer, this is the strongest argument in favor of this brand: a worn-out battery doesn’t mean the end of the device.

How long will you receive updates?

Seven years of security updates for both lines. The difference lies in the Android versions. The GS6 and GS6 Pro launched with Android 15 and have a planned upgrade path to Android 16 and 17. The GX30 and GX50 launch on stock Android 16, without any pre-installed third-party apps, but Gigaset has not committed to any version upgrades. So with the GX series, you’ll get security patches for years, but you may never get a newer Android version. Also, keep in mind that seven years is a commitment, not a guarantee, from a brand that will have a different owner starting in 2024.

Who is Gigaset?

Gigaset originated from Siemens. In 1941, Siemens opened a facility in Bocholt, which began manufacturing telephones in 1948. The brand became best known for its cordless DECT home phones and later expanded into Android smartphones. According to Gigaset itself, approximately 500 people work on development, design, and production.

The past few years have been turbulent. In 2023, Gigaset filed for insolvency proceedings under its own management and was acquired in April 2024 by the VTech Group, a Hong Kong-based conglomerate. Since then, it has continued as Gigaset Technologies GmbH. For those making a long-term purchase, this is important to know: development and production in Bocholt continue, but the brand is no longer under German ownership.
