Fitbit Edge Leaked: Fitness Tracker with Screen, GPS, and Week-Long Battery Life
Android Headlines has leaked the first press images of the Fitbit Edge. This fitness tracker has a small, narrow screen, making it ideal for smaller wrists.
And yet, this is not the first time we have seen the sleek Fitbit Edge. Google itself forgot to remove it from a promotional image accompanying the announcement of the Pixel 11 series. Until now, we have been waiting for Google to announce this Fitbit Edge. There is still no official announcement.
Colors matched to Pixel 11 Pro
The Edge appears to be the spiritual successor to the Charge 6 from 2023, although Google felt it necessary to give it a different name. The Fitbit Edge features a gold case with a salmon-pink strap. That color looks familiar, as the Google Pixel 11 Pro is also available in this Canyon colorway. Google is therefore matching the colors to the 11 Pro models. It is no surprise that images of an olive green and obsidian black Fitbit Edge have also appeared.
Fitbit Edge gets GPS, Google Maps and week-long battery
According to a leaked specification list, the fitness tracker will not have 4G: it connects to your phone via Bluetooth. However, the Edge does have built-in GPS and an altimeter, so you do not need to bring your phone along to track a route. The list also mentions support for Google Maps, phone notifications, automatic workout recognition and 7 days of battery life on a single charge. The Edge works with both Android and iPhone and is designed to fully integrate with Google Health.
Price and expected announcement
We expected the device to have been officially announced by now. Google is taking its time. It is not too late: we expect an announcement to follow soon.
In terms of price, a spot between the current Air (109 euros) and the Charge 6 (137 euros) would be logical. That is unlikely, however. Android Headlines expects a price between $149 and $199, and Google has been raising its prices significantly lately: the Pixel 11 costs 999 euros, 100 euros more than the Pixel 10. Furthermore, in early October, the Pixel 10a went from $499 to $599 in the U.S. Google Store without an announcement. Keep in mind that the Edge will likely be more expensive than its predecessors.
