What's new in the Redmi Note 15 series?

In the Netherlands, the Redmi Note 15 series consists of five devices: the Redmi Note 15, the Redmi Note 15 5G, the Redmi Note 15 Pro, the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, and the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G. Every model in this generation features a 120Hz AMOLED display and a battery of at least 5500 mAh—even the most affordable model. A smooth display and a battery that lasts all day are no longer exclusive to the Pro models.

The suggested retail prices at launch ranged from about 200 euros for the entry-level model to about 500 euros for the Pro+ 5G. How the five models differ

The main camera, charging speed, and chip account for the price difference. The display and battery are excellent across the entire lineup.

Note the difference between 4G and 5G

The biggest pitfall of this series lies in the names. Both the base model and the Pro come in 4G and 5G versions, with the same name except for one suffix but a different chip inside: the Redmi Note 15 Pro runs on a MediaTek Helio G200 Ultra without 5G, while the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G runs on a Dimensity 7400 Ultra with 5G. In online stores, they’re often listed side by side, sometimes with a price difference of just a few tens. So be sure to check that “5G” is literally included in the product name before you checkout, especially if you plan to use the device for years to come.

What You’re Sacrificing at This Price Point

That 200MP is mostly just a number on the box: the sensor combines pixels to create a photo with a much lower resolution. It works fine in daylight, but in the dark, it doesn’t match the quality of a flagship model. Zooming is digital, since there’s no dedicated telephoto lens. The processing power is also mid-range: everyday use is smooth, but for the most demanding games, you’ll need to lower the settings.
