Xiaomi Redmi 9A product details
The Xiaomi Redmi 9A is an extremely friendly priced phone with a particularly large battery. The screen is also quite large at 6.53 inches. The saying goes "buying cheap is an expensive mistake". Whether that also applies to this Redmi 9A, we will find out for you here.
Best price at the moment
At the time of writing, this Redmi 9A was the cheapest phone that Xiaomi currently has for sale. Since you can't sit in the front row for a dime, concessions have been made. Let's discuss those right away so we have that covered. A very simple MediaTek chipset has been used; the Helio G25. The absolute entry level model. Therefore, this Redmi 9A is not very powerful but it is also not unusable. Furthermore, the memory is a bit meager. The 2GB of RAM memory is simply not enough and 32GB of storage memory is quickly filled. Especially if you consider that a part of it is taken up by the Android operating system. Fortunately, you can expand the memory by inserting a memory card.

Pretty screen, large battery
Having said that, the rest of the Redmi 9A is not too bad. The screen is reasonably large at 6.53 inches and also quite colorful. The brightness is not very high (400 nits), so reading in full sunlight sometimes causes problems. The 9A also relies on its large 5000 mAh battery. More than enough for several days of use. Charging is done via an old-fashioned microUSB cable and with a maximum of 10W. That is not fast. A full charge will take several hours.

Unlock only with facial recognition
Since this is Xiaomi's most budget-friendly device, the camera is pretty basic. It is a single 13MP shooter with flash. Xiaomi says with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) it can still make colorful gems. For this, the built-in camera features like kaleidoscope mode certainly help too. On the front, we find a 5MP selfie camera with Xiaomi's famous beautify mode. You have to love these polished selfies but it can be handy. Selfies can be taken with your palm and the screen can light up for some extra light. The selfie camera can also be used to unlock your Redmi 9A. Unlocking with your fingerprint is not possible; a fingerprint scanner is unfortunately missing.
