With a name like realme GT Master Edition, you do set expectations. And with that, realme takes a certain risk. A calculated risk because on paper the device has the right stuff. Or rather the right specifications. Whether this GT Master Edition has earned its name, we will find out here.
But first, let's talk about the looks. Especially the Voyager Gray version with its striking Suitcase Design. Designed by Naoto Fukasawa, a Japanese designer and no stranger to the phone industry. He previously designed several phones for the Japanese company KDDI. The back indeed resembles a suitcase, with level edges, made of eco-friendly vegan leather and with a soft-touch surface. The other colors, white and black, have a flat plain back. Something for everyone.
On the front of this affordable GT Master Edition we find a bright, colorful and smooth screen. The panel comes from Samsung and is of the AMOLED type. Colors seem to splash off the screen. The maximum peak brightness is a high 1000 nits so that images can be read even in full daylight. Images are also refreshed 120 times per second. This makes animations look extra fluid. These are figures we normally only see on much more expensive phones. A premium processor has also been chosen: the Snapdragon 778G from Qualcomm. This delivers excellent performance and also supports 5G internet. You are therefore ready for the future.
On the back of the GT Master Edition is a 64MP main camera, an 8MP camera with 119° ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens for close-ups from 4cm. According to realme, the camera is ideally suited for street photography. For example, there is a special Street Photography Mode that should best capture the colors and sharpness of the street. There are also numerous Kodak film filters available to get that old analog feel. If you prefer to edit photos afterwards, there is the RAW mode. This gives you complete freedom to set things like white balance, exposure and contrast afterwards.
On the street you use the large 4300 mAh battery. And in the studio you can charge it lightning fast with the 65W SuperDart Charger. A full charge takes only 33 minutes. According to Realme, the GT Master Edition is particularly suitable for gaming. For example, there is a special GT Mode that allows you to unlock the maximum performance. And thanks to the Vapor Chamber Cooling System it keeps its head cool even during intensive use. Gaming is also made more realistic by the three-dimensional vibration engine, the Tactile Engine. In other words, a phone that is a jack of all trades.
