Notorious leaker shows video of foldable Apple iPhone Fold

Jon Prosser of the YouTube channel fpt. may be embroiled in a legal battle with Apple over information leaks, but that's not stopping him from sharing images of the iPhone Fold. This could be Apple's first foldable iPhone.

Apple has been working on a foldable iPhone for years, but until now it was not satisfied with the visible fold that many foldables feature. Apple seems to have found a solution to that and by the end of 2026 we may see the first results of that. And in the iPhone Fold that, according to Jon Prosser, will look like this.

Having previously experimented with clamshell foldables, Apple now seems to be putting its money on a bookstyle foldable. Witness the video, Apple is opting for a relatively wide one, making the Fold look more like the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold than say Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Source is unknown

The video does not tell us how Prosser got his information. For example, we don't know if the information came from the same iPhone from which Prosser previously got his Liquid Glass information. In doing so, Prosser worked with Michael Ramacciotti who, according to court documents, was paid $650 to break into the home of a former Apple employee.

That Prosser is now bringing news of another unannounced Apple product is striking. There is no ruling in the earlier lawsuit yet, nor do we know what Apple will do with this new development.

Ultra high price

Back to the iPhone Fold. Although we do not yet know what it will be called. iPhone Ultra is also a possibility as the device promises to have a price tag between 2,000 and 2,500 US Dollars. Ouch!

Whether that price for a foldable with no visible fold remains to be seen. The competition has not been idle, and recent models from the likes of Honor and Oppo already have no significant fold. Moreover, others, say Samsung and Google, now know what to look out for next year if they want to make the iPhone Fold difficult.

iPhone Fold specifications

Apple's first foldable will have a 5.5-inch screen outside and a 7.8-inch screen inside, according to Prosser. The whole thing is 9 millimeters thick or thin. There are 4 cameras; two on the back, one on the front and one inside. That means Face ID is missing, instead there is Touch ID on the power button on the side.

Expect two colors; black and white. But a launch is not in the cards for now. The first announcement date is September 2026. Apple will release more iPhone then; the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The iPhone 18 missing here will follow in early 2027 with possibly a new iPhone -e.
