We'll help you tie the knot.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7: Thinner, lighter, but different

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 (2026) breaks with tradition. It's the thinnest Fold Samsung has ever made. Folded shut, it finally feels like a "normal" smartphone. The cameras have received a huge upgrade, finally matching the S Series Ultra models. But note: to achieve this ultra-thin design, Samsung has dropped the S Pen support.

Are you a pure content consumer and want the best photos? Then the Fold 7 is your winner.

Smart choice: Why the Z Fold 6 or 5 are still top devices

Not everyone needs the latest of the latest. Indeed, for the power user who swears by the stylus, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (from 2025) is the better choice. This device does support the S Pen, has a great processor and has since dropped significantly in price.

Do you think price is most important? Then check out the Galaxy Z Fold 5. For under €850, you get a device that offers 90% of the experience of the latest models. It is fast, waterproof and (unlike the older Fold 4) also folds completely flat already.

The Hinge: What about the fold line?

A common concern is the visibility of the fold. With the Z Fold 5 and 6, it is already minimal due to the "Flex Hinge," which closes the device flat and prevents dust from getting in between. With the new Z Fold 7, the screen has been pulled even tighter. You can still see the crease when the light hits it at an angle, but during use (when looking straight at the screen) it disappears completely into the background.

Doubt help: Fold or still a Flip?

Still doubting between the Fold series and the Flip series? Ask yourself one question: what is your goal?

      • Choose the Galaxy Z Fold if you're looking for a tablet you can fold. You want to multitask, watch large-format videos and read documents.
      • Choose the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip if you're looking for a regular phone that you can store small. The Flip is more compact, the Fold is more powerful.
