Asus is originally a Taiwanese company that grew large by manufacturing motherboards for desktop computers. Later, in addition to computer components, it began manufacturing complete computers as well as laptops. Its full name is ASUSTeK Computer Inc., but it is sometimes abbreviated to ASUSTeK or ASUS.
Asus History
Asus was founded in 1989 by four former Acer employees. They were working on a motherboard for an Intel processor. In addition to motherboards, the company also developed laptops, graphics cards, and PDAs.
The first Asus phones rolled off the production line in 2003. The Asus J100 was a flip phone and featured 3G functionality. Smartphones soon followed, primarily running Windows Mobile. Later, Garmin and Asus jointly launched the Nüvifone under a shared brand name. This partnership came to an end in 2010.
In late 2008, Asus joined the Open Handset Alliance. This consortium was created to make Android a major force in the mobile phone market. The first Asus smartphone running Android was the PadFone. This 4.3-inch device came with a 10-inch tablet screen into which it could be inserted.
Asus series
Asus has a long history of exploring various platforms and designs. Examples include the PadFone series, a smartphone/tablet hybrid, and the P series, which consists of Windows Mobile phones. Currently, the product lineup consists of two series:

Preference for Intel
Asus and Intel have a long history of close collaboration. While the chip manufacturer is a major player in desktop computing, it is not in the mobile phone market. In that sector, manufacturers typically use ARM-based chips because they are more energy-efficient. Nevertheless, in 2015, Asus released an Android smartphone powered by an Intel Atom processor. In addition to this Zenfone 2, versions of the Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5, and Zenfone 6 also featured an Intel Atom processor; after that, Asus would use only Qualcomm processors.
