Bought a Samsung Galaxy S24+? Do this first!

Congratulations!!! You are now the proud owner of a new Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus. You will enjoy it for many years, shoot beautiful pictures, and stream video and music until the battery dies. But wait, don't forget to change this setting! Otherwise, you will miss out on a lot.

The Galaxy S24+ is one of the most significant updates for a Galaxy Plus model in years. The device has always been the slightly bigger brother of the S24, but not this year. The screen is significantly better this time around.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus settings menu, screen resolution
QHD+ delivers much sharper images than FHD+

Because the Samsung Galaxy S24+ has a screen with Quad HD+ resolution instead of Full HD+, like last year. The only downside is that you must manually switch to this higher resolution. By default, out of the box, the S24+ displays FHD+. So, please take a couple of seconds to dive with us into the settings, and let us explain how to do it. Afterward, you can enjoy a much sharper image quality.

How to change screen resolution

To enjoy the full 3120 by 1440 pixels, do the following:

  • Open the app 'Settings'
  • Go to 'Display'
  • Click 'Screen Resolution'
  • Then select 'QHD+ 3120 x 1440'
  • Press 'Apply'

Samsung may opt for the FHD+ resolution by default to save battery life. While in practice, that won't be much. The Samsung Galaxy S24+ is equipped with a larger 4900 mAh battery, and with 45W support, you can still quick-charge it. Just a few minutes on the charger will get you going for hours.
