CES 2010: Motorola announces Backflip and Android updates

Last night Motorola has officially introduced the Backflip to the large audience at the CES. In addition the American manufacturer announced the release of Android 2.1 updates for the Milestone, DEXT and Backflip.

The Motorola Backflip is initially supplied with Android 1.5 (Cupcake). We think it's strange. Whatever may be, the Backflip may soon face up to a 2.1 update in the near future. The Milestone (Droid) en DEXT (CLIQ) will undergo the same fait. More information to follow.

Motorola Backflip

Let's first take a close look at the Backflip. This special flip-device has a complete QWERTY keyboard which has to be backflipped from the back of the device. On one side the screen and on the other side the keyboard. Whether this is a handy solution will soon show, however it is a striking device.

MOTOBLUR

The Motorola Backflip, previously known as Motus, has Motorola's own MOTOBLUR, thus the integrationos social networks and automatic back-ups. In addition the Backflip has a 3.1 inch HVGA resolution touchscreen, just like the DEXT, but the screen of the Backflip is capable of showing more than 260 thousand colours. Different from the DEXT is the flash that comes with the camera. In addition a standard 2 GB memorycard is supplied with the Backflip.

Android update

As mentioned before, soon a free uodate of Android Eclair 2.1 will emerge. This same goes for DEXT and the Milestone. Rumours are that for the last one at first a regular maintenance update will emerge. On top of that Motorola hinted that Flash 10.1 will be available for the Milestone. Nice!
