Qualcomm has more or less confirmed that its Snapdragon 8 Elite will power the upcoming Galaxy S25 series. And to exploit the chipset's full potential, Samsung has come up with a special cooling system for it.
For follows insider Ahmed Qwaider, the so-called Vapor Chamber applied by Samsung will be significantly larger. Especially for the S25 Ultra; up to a whopping 42%. The Galaxy S25 and S25+ would suffice with a 10% increase.
Samsung has been applying Vapor Chambers in the Galaxy S series for some time to better conduct heat from the processor elsewhere. The cooler the processor runs, especially during intensive tasks, the faster tasks are completed. Beyond a certain temperature, a processor begins to throttle down its performance, called throttling, to extend its life.
Faster Galaxy AI
According to the same Ahmed, all this results in a 38% jump in performance for the CPU, 34% for the GPU and 43% in the NPU. The latter will handle most of the AI tasks. This is expected to allow Galaxy AI to perform faster and possibly new functions.
Samsung will announce the Galaxy S25 series on Jan. 22 during a live event that can be followed online. It is expected that at least the S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra will be available for preorder immediately after that. Whether the same applies to the fourth model, the S25 Slim, remains to be seen. Information on that is still missing.
