Time to say goodbye to some nasty old bugs! This week a firmware update for the Nokia N8, C7 and C6-01, and the Sony Ericsson X10, X10 mini, X10 mini pro and X8.

This week, Nokia and Sony Ericsson came with a general update for a large portion of their smartphone programmes. If you have a recent handset form one of these barnds, there's a good chance that improvements for your phone are on its way.

Nokia N8, C7 and C6-01 - Symbian^3 PR1.1

Owners of the Nokia N8, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 can download new firmware. With the update, a new version of the Ovi Store is installed, and you have better Microsoft Exchange Support. QuickOffice, the app you use to view Word and Excel files, is improved, just like Nokia's own social media app. We recommend to install the firmware over a wifi connection. Don't forget to create a back-up. Afterwards, go to Applications > Sw Update on the N8 and Applications > Instruments > SW Update on the other handsets.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, X8 X10 mini and X10 mini pro - v2.7.13

The current Android-range of the Japanese-Swedish brands gets an update. The most important improvement is for the Xperia X10. Like many of its competitors, the handset will support pich-to-zoom. The Xperia X10 mini, Xperia X10 mini pro and Xperia X8 still have to work without this option. You will get a new message overview widgetm and the TimeScape and MediaScpae apps have been improved. The update is available via Sony Ericssons Software Updater.
