HTC has announced the Touch Pro2 and Touch Diamond2 today. Both are are so-called Windows Phones.
The new HTC Touch Pro2 has some similarities with the new Nokia N97. But what is really different is the new Windows button on the device. HTC wants to highlight that this device is Windows Mobile 6.5 ready, despite that version 6.1 has been installed. When 6.5 gets available, users are offered a free update.
There will be no misconception that the Touch Pro2 is the successor of the Touch Pro. This business device has a large 3.6 inch VGA resolution display. But you can also use the side-slide QWERTY keyboard to type in your messages.
HTC Straight Talk
The HTC Touch Pro2 has the new HTC Straight Talk-technology. Users will have the advantage of having an integrated e-mail, voice and conference call experience. It is very easy to switch from e-mail to conference call-mode with one or more parties.
Straight Talk offers an innovative akoestic speakerphone design. You will have the same experience as when having a conference in a real conference surrounding. Straight Talk offers a reliable and high quality voice and sound experience supported by a-symmetric speakers. The device will automatically switch to a conference call speakerphone-system when you turn your HTC Toch Pro2 on a table.
The HTC Touch Pro2 will be in stores by the beginning of the summer and will cost approximately 599 Euro.
HTC Touch Diamond2
The popular HTC Touch Diamond has been the inspiration for the design of the Touch Diamond2. Nevertheless, the device is 2 millimetre thicker than the Touch Diamond; maybe because of the 5 megapixel camera or the battery that offers 50% more capacity?
The recommended consumer price of the HTC Touch Diamond 2 is 449 Euro including taxes, excluding your subscription. The device will be in stores in the Benelux by the second quarter of this year.
People-centric communication
HTC is introducing 'people-centric' communication with the HTC Touch Diamond2 en HTC Touch Pro2. By selection one contact person the entire communication history with these person is being showed, regardless of being a voice, SMS text or email communication. This communication history can also be addressed via the telephone screen during a phone call. The user can always see the latest communication with its contact person.
Push Internet-technology
The Push Internet-technology of HTC is making the use of mobile internet even more simple and user friendly. With HTC Push Internet users can select their favorite websites to make them available directly and appear when the URL is given. HTC is making an end to the slow download and availability of websites on mobile phones.
