First images show 4.5mm thick Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
The first renders of Samsung's thin foldable Fold 7 have appeared. Samsung is betting on an extra thin design this year, even thinner than the already announced Fold Special Edition.
Incidentally, the renders show strong similarities to the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition announced in October 2024. The corners are quite sharp, the camera module sits on a similar platform, albeit rounder on the Fold 7. It's all an afterthought; next year is all about thickness.

Samsung has been overtaken left and right by thinner foldables, topped by the Oppo Find N5 which is less than 9 millimeters when folded. Samsung is also aiming for that thickness. If we halve that, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 should be about 4.5 millimeters thick when unfolded. Not thinner than the Find N5, but it's very close.
Still meager battery capacity
Samsung its next foldable will have an edge over the Oppo, as it will be available worldwide. Something that does not apply to Oppo's counterpart. The advantages do end there as the source believes the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will use the same 4400 mAh battery. Oppo has managed to fit a 5600 mAh in the thinner Find N5.
The cameras in the Seventh Fold do promise to be higher in resolution. For example, a 200MP one is mentioned, a vast improvement from the earlier 50MP one in the Fold 6. The 12MP ultra-wide-angle and 10MP telephoto do remain the same, it is expected.
Launch date Fold 7
Big unknown still is when Samsung will present the new generation Fold. The past two editions happened in July but the month of August was also often used. To be honest; we don't know. First, let's wait for real photos of the device. Then we would also like to see if there is an S Pen for the device and how visible the fold is.
