Nokia introduces new Symbian handset in US

Nokia keeps trying to reach the American market with Symbian handsets. The Finnish company promises new handset with its own operating system on the American show for consumer electronics CTIA.

The poor results of Symbian on the American market were one of the reasons for Nokia to close a deal with Microsoft, and implement Windows Phone 7 on future smartphones. When compared to the USA, Symbian performed fine in Europe. However, it seems like we have to wait a while until the first Windows Phone 7 phones from Nokia hit the market, so the company comes with a Symbian phone created to conquer a marketshare in the US.

Nokia ctia 2011 invite

The only thing we know about this handset is that the press has been invited to visit a Nokia meeting, in which a Symbian handset will be presented. Possibly, this concerns the Nokia X7, a smartphone that leaked before. Nokia wants to sell millions of the handsets, according to the invitation, so it's possible that the handset to be presented will come to Europe as well, to improve sales a little.
