LG working on Viewty successor; GC900 Viewty 2

Today at a special event LG Electronics presented the supposedly successor of the popular Viewty; The GC900 Viewty 2.

At the event we were forbidden to take pictures. We did see the device, which had the most resemblance with the LG Secret, without the numeric keyboard. The device is operated through touchscreen only. The prototype was far from finished, so it might take a while before this device gets announced officially. Despite the lack of images we do know some specs.

The LG GC900 has a 3" touchscreen with a (according to the specs) Wide VGA resolution. Looking at the User Agent Profile we noticed that the device uses a WQVGA resolution (240 x 400 pixels) instead. This shows more resemblance with the prototype we saw.

Camera monster

The Viewty 2 has quite some interesting camera specs; the device has a 8 megapixel chip that has Face Recognition, Smile Shot and Blink Shot. Luckily there's also a Xenon flash.

Other features; HSDPA, WiFi and A-GPS support. The memory can be extended to a maximum of 32 GB, which is more than enough nowadays. The GC900 will run the new S-Class UI, similar as the LG Arena.
