Press materials thin Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge emerges ahead of launch

We can show you press images of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge even before its official unveiling on May 13. The thin device will come out in about three colors and will presumably be available only from May 30.

Samsung aims to distinguish the Galaxy S25 Edge from the other S25 models by its thinness. At 5.85 millimeters thick at its thinnest point, the Edge is 1.35mm thinner than the regular S25. That sounds little but will feel like a lot.

Samsung is marketing the device in three colors for now; Titanium Silver (shown above), Titanium Jet Black and Titanium Icy Blue. These are not unfamiliar color names for Samsung; they are a mix of what is currently used on the S25 and the S25 Ultra. Noteworthy about these versions is that the blue version does not have blue sides but silver.

Already these images appeared at German-based Winfuture which, thanks to Roland Quandt, publishes images of unannounced phones more often. The beauty of this leak is that the source also mentions some specifications.

Thus, we can already give the following list of expected S25 Edge specifications:

  • 6.7-inch AMOLED display
  • 3120 x 1440 resolution
  • 120 Hz display
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite
  • 12 GB of RAM
  • 256 or 512 GB of storage
  • 3900 mAh battery
  • 200 MP main camera with f/1.7 lens + OIS
  • 12 MP ultra-wide angle with 120° viewing angle
  • IP68 dust and waterproof

Notable in this list is the lack of a separate telephoto camera. Yet this does not necessarily mean that the Galaxy S25 Edge cannot zoom in. Thanks to its large 200 MP sensor, Samsung may still be able to promise lossless quality zooming.

Saving on battery

The small battery capacity also stands out, in a negative sense. It is clear what Samsung saved on to get the device so thin. It also does not seem obvious that Samsung opted for a new battery technology Si-C (Silicon-carbon). Those are also thin but have a higher energy density that allows you to make smaller phones with more battery capacity.

We expect the official announcement of the S25 Edge on May 13 after which the device will be available on May 30. For that, you have to pay a hefty price of €1249. For that, you get the model with 256GB of storage. If you want more, namely 512GB of space, you will have to shell out €1369.
