New Palm Eos phone with webOS heading

During the official announcement of the Pre Palm already announced that it was going to release multiple phones with the new webOS operating system. This week we finally could see some evidence with pics of the Eos 'Castle'.

The Palm Eos, code name Castle, is a monoblock device with a full QWERTY keyboard. The device seems to have a pretty large display. Usually when a device has forms like the Castle the display is positioned in a so-called landscape position: the width of the display is longer than the length of the display. This device has the opposite and that is quite remarkable.

The Eos seems a reasonable successor of the Centro, but with a new promising webOS operating system. The quadband device only has a 2 megapixel camera with fixed focus. And with this short introduction it becomes very clear that we're not talking about a multimedia device.

Capacitive touchscreen

The dispaly has a resolution of 320 x 400 pixels. It is a capacitive touchscreen of 2.63 inch. The device weights 100 gramme and is only 10,6 millimetre.

Other specs are A-GPS, 4 GB of internal memory, Bluetooth and 3G. It remains unkown when the device is going to be announced officially.
