New Nokia N83, next Nokia device after the official release of last week

The new device is a slider on the basis off the new N80 which hit the market some weeks ago. The N83 is rumoured to have superb specifications as a 5 Mpixel Carl Zeiss camera, 4GB harddisk and Wifi.

The new N83 has become a slider. The second one from Nokia behind the N80 containing the new UI, new Symbian platform and some really nice specifications. The pictures have leaked accross the net and show a device that is fimiliar with the looks of the N73. The dual color with white of the front and grey on the back shows what Nokia wants to show with the new device.

When we look at the slider, you will notice it can slide in two directions. You can slide it open and unveil the keyboard for entering numbers and text or slide it the other way around so that you will get four special dedicated music keys on a touchpanel. This device is ment to be a music device and the amount of internal harddisk memory shows that.

Also the camera is something to discuss. The rumoured 5 Mpixel camera in the N83 shows a new standard for Nokia. The Carl Zeiss lens with autofocus, mechanical shutter and integrated flash is a new leap in current market where only LG will show us a likewise device soon; the KG920.

For Nokia this device will be the ultimate mix between music and camera possibilities. A mix that other brands had but not will continue. The expectation is that this device will hit the shops in February 2007 and that it will be introduced in September together with two other devices. Another slider having great video features and a music smartphone with 10GB HDD.

Nokia is trying really hard in competing against the strong competition from the East.
