Microsoft does anything to make Windows Phone 7 a success. The company hopes the new operating system for smartphones will bring new chances. The latest rumours: a free smartphone for a Microsoft employees.

90,000 employees can look forward to a new phone, says one them on Twitter. The Remond-based company wants to use the word of mouth. At once, it makes the new platform more popular than the flopped KIN project, in which only 10.00 phones were sold. Windows Phone 7 should help forget earlier version of Windows for mobile phones quickly.

Manufacturers announced

Manufacturers of the first Windows Phone 7 smartphones have been announced lately. LG, Asus, Samsung, Dell en HTC signed a contract with Microsoft. The first plans included HP as a creator of Windows 7 phones, but that company will focus on the recently acquired operating system webOS.

AT&T places large order

The American telco AT&T is said to have ordered 8 million Windows Phone 7 smartphones at the manufacturers. The rumours are a signal that Windows Phone 7 may bring the hoped return to the smartphone market for Microsoft.
