Samsung Sends Teaser Email About Future of Galaxy Z Series
Flip 8 and Fold 8 series expected this summer
Samsung just sent a striking email to numerous media outlets reflecting on seven years of Galaxy Z innovation. This raises the question: Why this email, and why now? We have an idea.
In the email, Samsung reflects on seven years of innovation. From the revival of the clamshell, the use of real glass (UTG), and making foldables IPX8 waterproof. We’ve come a long way since the introduction of the Galaxy Fold in 2019.

But Samsung is clearly not done yet, even if it doesn’t say so in so many words. Samsung concludes its mailing with the following words, without going into detail about new models and their features and specifications.
With the summer of 2026 approaching, anticipation surrounding the next Samsung Galaxy innovation continues to grow. True to our tradition, we will continue to raise the bar with new breakthroughs in foldable technology and innovative designs. Just as we have done over the past seven years.
Flip 8 and Fold 8 series
It’s clear to us what Samsung is referring to. For months, rumors have been swirling about three models: the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the Fold 8, and the Fold 8 Ultra. The news isn’t that an Ultra model is being added; the news is that the Fold will have a wider screen.
This wider foldable will be the standard model in the Fold 8 series, with simpler specifications but a different design. Hopefully, Samsung will be able to lower the price a bit so that it falls between the Flip and the Fold. The true successor to the Fold 7 will then be the Fold 8 Ultra, although it’s still unclear at this point whether that name is symbolic or if the device is also more advanced.
A possible introduction date is also circulating: July 22. If Samsung manages to hold its next Galaxy Unpacked on that date, it will be well ahead of Apple’s expected introduction of the foldable iPhone Ultra, which will also be released with a wide screen.
