Exclusive: Blue Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is not new model, but new color
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will be delayed for now
In just a few days, Samsung will announce new foldables and smartwatches at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Previously, we saw renders of three new watches: the Galaxy Watch 8, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and a new Galaxy Watch Ultra. Now, however, things seem to be a bit different.
No Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 but a new color for the current Galaxy Watch Ultra. We found that out by analyzing new images of the blue version of the watch.

In earlier reporting from June 13, we already noticed that the blue version was very similar to the current Watch Ultra, so we didn't rule out the possibility that it was just a new color. We can now confirm that. On the back of new images of the blue Watch Ultra we see type number "SM-L705F", which is the current type number of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. So not a new model, but a new color.
Significantly reduced in price
Samsung released the Galaxy Watch Ultra on July 10, 2024 so a successor would not have been illogical. The watch was given a starting price of €699 but now costs only €338; half the original amount. We often see manufacturers introduce a new color to boost sales, but that usually happens halfway through a product cycle.
It remains to be seen what a blue version of the watch will do about declining sales numbers. In any case, it is to be hoped for fans of the color blue that the timepiece does not command a much higher price than a Titanium Gray, Titanium Silver or Titanium White version in which you can currently get the Ultra.
