Google unveils MagSafe-compatible Pixel 10 series
Google announced the 10th generation of Pixel phones at a packed event. The Pixel 10 is more comprehensive than ever, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL are more professional, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is dust-proof for the first time. But for all the new models, the focus is on Gemini.
Google pulled out all the stops and had The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon talk up the event. But there were also guest appearances by Lando Norris and the Jonas Brothers. A total of 7 new Pixel devices were introduced, from phones to wireless earbuds, watches and accessories.
Pixel 10
First up was the Pixel 10 with a satin finish and in four fresh colors; Indigo, Frost, Lemongrass and Obsidian. This time, the device features built-in magnets for which Google is releasing special Pixelsnap accessories. Magnetic chargers, rings and stands were shown.
The Pixel 10 Pro is for those who want just a bit more. The phones are made of more premium materials, offer more premium performance and comes in two sizes; the 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL. The latest Pro phones offer the best screen and camera and also gets the best camera app Google ever made.
.New is the Pro Res Zoom that can zoom up to 100x digitally but still remain sharp thanks to AI. The result looks impressive at first glance but we are curious to see what remains of this in our own test.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold
And then, of course, there was the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. An ultra slim yet durable foldable thanks to its IP68 rating. A foldable with such a high IP rating is a rarity. All Pixel phones run on Google's latest Tensor G5 chip and perform most AI functions just locally.
Every Pixel gets 7 years of security and Android updates and also get Pixel Drops. Those are software updates that bring new features that suddenly allow your phones to do new things.
Pixel Watch 4
Google also showed off the Pixel Watch 4 with more accurate heart rate recognition. Google claims it is as accurate as a heart rate monitor you wear with a strap around your chest. The watch also recognizes when a heartbeat has stopped and automatically calls 911. If you are conscious but without coverage, there is satellite communication, just from your watch. Whether the service will come out outside the U.S. was not made clear during the presentation.
In the field of wireless earbuds, there was the new Pixel Buds 2a. The first A-buds with built-in noise cancellation (ANC) and a new way to wear them. Owners of a Pixel Buds Pro 2 were not forgotten either. They get new features including shake to ignore phone calls and Loud Noise Protection with an update.
There were also a few short announcements such as a revamped Fitbit app with a personal health coach. The new app will not be released until October and will only be available in the U.S. at first.

All Pixel products shown are immediately available for preorder. The Pixel 10 will have a starting price of €899 and will go on sale Aug. 28. The Pixel 10 Pro costs €1099 and the 10 Pro XL starts at €1299. Also expect these two models to be in stores starting August 28.
For a Pixel 10 Pro Fold, $1799 must be laid down and it will be in stores Oct. 9. All Pixel phones come with 1 year of free Google AI Pro worth $263.
