Nokia introduces the N79 and N85

Today Nokia introduced the N79 and N85. Meet these two new smartphones in the Nserie.

The Nokia N79 is what supposed to be the follower of the N78 that got available recently. To say it differently: a candybar shaped smartphone with a 5 megapixel camera and dual LED flash. It is possible to change the looks of the N79 with the so-called Xpress-On Covers. Besides that, the device has a GPS receiver and a built-in FM receiver. The phone is quite a music monster. With the N79 it is possible to listen to music up to 24 hours, and it has direct access to Nokias new Music Store. And thanks to the 3.5mm audio jack you can use your own headphone. The N79 has a memory of 4 GB, so that should be sufficient for a while. We expect that the Nokia N79 will be available next month.

The second smartphone that has been introduced by Nokia is the N85. The Nokia N85 is supposed to be the cheaper brother of the new N96, but the looks show more similarities with the N81. Expect a lot of the same characteristics. What's interesting about the N85 is the fact that it has the newest display, called AMOLED. This new "Active Matrix LED" display is new for the telecom industry. Therefore it's great that Nokia is showing us a 2.6 inch AMOLED display in QVGA resolution (240 x 320 pixels).

Other specifications of the N85 are the built-in 5 megapixel camera and GPS receiver. Thanks to those specifications the N85 is capable of placing a so-called geotag on pictures. The N85 is actually more focused on gamers, thanks to the N-Gage gaming buttons. The N85 has also a very quick HSDPA data connection function, WiFi support and a built-in FM receiver.

In comparison to the N79 the N85 offers 4 more hours to listen to music; 28 hour before the battery stops. And that's quite descent. The N85 has even a 3.5mm audio jack entrance, as well access to the Nokia Music Store. This phone will probably also be launched in Europe next month.
