For the current Android flagship of Samsung Android, the Galaxy S II , there is a new subversion of Android this week. Previously the phone ran Android 2.3.4. You need the kies software to download the update. Updating can only be done using a cable connection with your PC.

Microsoft announced that an update for Windows phone is rolled out this week. The existing phones (a href="Samsung-Omnia-7-i8700">Samsung Omnia 7, LG Optimus 7, HTC 7 Trophy en HTC HD7) get an update to Windows Phone 7.5, the latest version of the OS. New features include a better notification system, multitasking and a better browser.
When the update comes exactly depends on your provider and the manufacturer of your handset. It can take some time before your it’s s your turn, but it may as well be that the update is already there for you. Your smartphone notifies you if the update can be downloaded. You can then update using the Zune software on your PC.
